What is a Lathe Cut Record?
Cutting a record on a record lathe is one of the oldest methods of sound recording. Sound is transferred down to a saphire or diamond needle which literally cuts the groove into the record in real time; If the song to be cut is 10 minutes long, it takes 10 minutes + prep time to cut.
