QSo you were recently in Amsterdam for the ADE? What parties were you playing at there?
AThis year I am focusing on my Stealth Records party at escape.
QCan you tell me a bit about your new track coming out, "Animalz", out Stealth
AI brought back my underground alter ego the S man with this track-Animalz has Jackin beats, dark baselines and drops like an Atom bomb on the dance floor
QYou have your own show called 'Release Yourself' - how long have you being doing this for now, and whats your influence behind it.
AI have been doing this radio show for almost 10 years now. It is a reflection of what I'm playing at the clubs and I get a chance to play it on air.
QNow I spent the season in Ibiza for 2010, and saw you play live @ Amnesia. You moved to Space for 2011. Was there a reason for this?
AI think that space is more conducive to the sound that I wanted to bring to release yourself this year. I enjoyed playing at amnesia but I definitely feel that space is a better fit for me.
QI would love to know about your studio set up at home. Can you give me a visual description?
AI am very into minimal design my studio is white walls with black carpeting and LED lights that I can use to set the mood with whatever color I desire. the speakers are Alderson acoustic custom-made monitors and they sound amazing. And the centerpiece of my studio is always my Macintosh computer which I rely on for almost everything.
QWhats it like touring so much, and being on the road most of your time? Do you still get my production done away from home?
ATouring as much as I do is not easy but I love seeing fans around the world. However when I am home, I am really about the family and spending quality time with them. I also carve out time to write music in the studio ,although I do a lot of productions on an airplane or hotel rooms with my portable studio set up.
QBeing as busy as you are, you must have down time. Whats your best way to relax, or chill from all the gigs/touring?
AFor me the best way to Relax is to go to the beach or spas, But I always think it's best whenever I get a chance spend that time with the family.
QWhat do you think is the secret success is behind a great producer? and what takes them to a number one?
AI feel the secret to my success is the fact that I have never lost the love of music and continue to be as inspired as driven today as when I first started. As a DJ you really have to learn to pay attention to the dance floor and what your crowd is into so you can know what you want to do with them next.
QAs a female Producer/DJ myself, do you think things have changed recently in the industry in regards to females being recognised more?
AI think that there are more women getting into music these days and becoming artists and DJs with dance music. I think women are a far more widely excepted today than they were a few years ago.
QYou have your trade make with the sunglasses (which i might add gives a very mystique/sex appeal ;) ..can i ask how many pairs you own? and whats your favourite brand?
AWow I lost track of how many pairs I have been recently I cut it down so I think I only have about 20 pairs now. it may sound like a lot but I used out over 200 pairs! My favorite glasses these days are Dita and chrome hearts
