2011 was the year of deep house: Jamie Jones at the number one spot of RA's top 100 DJs poll, Maceo Plex dominating charts everywhere, and those big fat wubby bass lines oozing out of Funktion One dance stacks the world over. London's SinQ Records rounded out the deepness this year with "Check Me Out," a killer release from Kriss Darang featuring Jo Jo on vocals and remixes from No Artificial Colours (they'll be making waves in 2012) and nu-disco nu-bie Elijah Collins. The original is stuffed with the tasty bass chug house heads have become so familiar with, across the genre's biggest developments in the past year. No Artificial Colours space things out, adding disco lasers, chopping and pitching the vocal, and turning out a grimey, main-room bumper. Glossy nu-disco panache comes courtesy Elijah Collins, who's released other funkified floor fillers on Mullet Records.
