PRO DJ SEARCH - How it works

Now that you have entered the search there will be a few new elements on your profile page. The first thing you will notice is an mp3 player with playlist fields below and on the right side of the player is the area that displays your collective votes.

To be eligible for final selection you will need to ensure that you have a mix uploaded to the player and your playlist is entered accordingly.

New mixes can be uploaded at any stage and will overwrite any existing mixes in the player. No matter how many mixes you upload over the course of the PRO DJ Search your vote count will not be reset and continue to add to your tally.

Mix uploads can be a maximum of 30M and must be in mp3 format. Votes can only be cast by registered users.

Conditions of Entry

Information on how to enter and prizes form part of these terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Entry is only open to “Eligible Entrants”, being individuals who: (i) are residents of Australia; (ii) are aged 16 years or older; (iii) are not employees of the Promoter or any of its related corporations or any of their agencies associated with the Competition; and (iv) are not a spouse, defacto spouse, parent, or natural or adopted child or sibling of such an employee.

Entry commences at 1.01pm AEST on 1/7/09 and concludes at 11.59pm AEST on 1/9/09. (“Entry Period”)

To enter and be eligible to win a prize, an Eligible Entrant must during the Entry Period:

Enter your mix playlist under the PRO DJ SEARCH TRACK LISTINGS

Complete all compulsory fields on the registration page including but not limited to name, phone number, date of birth and a valid email address.

Multiple entries (mixes) from an Eligible Entrant are permitted.

This competition is a game of skill in which chance plays no part in determining the winners.

Judging

10 finalists nominated by close of competition entry - 11.59pm AEST on 1/09/09.

10 finalists determined by peer voting. 10 entrants with highest number of votes will automatically qualify as a finalist.

1 entrant will be selected by a Pioneer-assembled judging panel.

Each of the eligible 10 finalist’s will be individually judged based on the following criteria:

(45%) Creativity

(45%) Technical ability

(10%) Additional profile content including video mixes, photos, blogs etc

All Eligible Entrants must be able to perform a live set on Pioneer Pro DJ and/or VJ equipment of their choice.

The judges’ decisions are final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

The Promoter, in their absolute discretion, reserves the right to verify the validity of all entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.

Each entry will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt by the Promoter. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility with be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries, or entries not received for any reason during the Entry Period or for any other periods of unavailability or technical difficulties with the online entry mechanism.

Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be ineligible to win.

Any incidental costs associated with accessing the Pioneer Pro DJ website, for example any charges an entrant may incur from their Internet Service provider when accessing the Internet, are the entrant's own responsibility.

There is one 1^st prize and 3 runners up prizes to be won.

1^st prize comprises of the following elements:

* Pioneer Pro DJ rig (CDJ-1000MK3 x 2, DJM-800 mixer x 1, HDJ-2000 headphones, RC3Pro roadcase)

* All expenses paid trip to Singapore to represent Pioneer Pro DJ Australia at the Asian ‘Digital Battle’ Pro DJ competition final (category: long mix).

* 12 month Pioneer Pro DJ Ambassadorship.

* Performance gig at Future Music Festival 2010, held in winner’s local state.

* Performance gig at Grant Smillies national Australian 2009 DJ tour

* Interviewed by Grant Smillie on NovaNation digital radio station.

* Profiled in one full colour page advertisement in Inpress Australia publications.

Each Runners Up prize comprises of the following elements:

* Pioneer Pro DJ HDJ-2000 headphones

* UDG Courier Deluxe Bag

The winners will be announced between 12 noon and 5pm AEST on 18^th September 2009. They will be notified by telephone and will be announced on the website – HYPERLINK "http://www.mydjspace.com" www.mydjspace.com

Prizes will be delivered to the winner’s nominated address within 28 days of the winner being announced.

In the event that the winner will be under the age of 18 years on the day of the Grant Smillie Tour / Future Music Festival event / Asian Digital Battle Final, the winner must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 years (at the cost of the entrant).

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from the prize winnings. Independent financial advice should be sought. The Promoter and the agencies and companies associated with the Promotion take no responsibility for prizes lost or damaged in transit, or for any delay in delivery of prizes.

The Promoter excludes any liability in connection with any failure by a winning entrant to operate the products.

The prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

If any prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason, the Promoter will, in its absolute discretion, substitute alternative goods or services of no lesser retail value and/or specification. The Promoter accepts no other liability or responsibility for any loss incurred by an Eligible Entrant or any third party if any prize (or part of a prize) is unavailable for any reason.

Each winning entrant consents to the Promoter using their name, likeness, image and/or voice (including any photograph, film and/or recording of them) in any media at any time or times without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition, the Promoter and/or any of the Promoter's products.

To the full extent permitted by law, the Promoter and its associated companies and agencies and any of their personnel (the "Relevant Parties") exclude all liability for any loss (including any damage, claim, injury, cost or expense) whatsoever which is suffered or incurred by any entrant arising out of, or in any way connected with, the competition or prizes, including: (i) any indirect, economic or consequential loss; (ii) any loss arising from any negligent act or omission of any of the Relevant Parties; (iii) any liability for personal injury or death.

Entrants' personal information will be collected by or on behalf of the Promoter to enable it to administer and promote the Competition and, if an entrant consents, may be used to market its products to the entrant. The personal information of each winner may be provided to others assisting in the conduct of the Competition, including the Competition administrator, prize suppliers and deliverers, and to regulatory authorities. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failures, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration or non-receipt of Eligible Entrant’s communications. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunctions (such as problems with telephone networks or lines, computer systems or software or internet service providers) or any failure of any communication to be received by the Promoter (whether as a result of technical problems or traffic congestion on any carrier network).

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR THE INFORMATION ON A WEBSITE, OR TO OTHERWISE UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS COMPETITION MAY BE A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, WHETHER SUCCESSFUL OR NOT, THE PROMOTER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
